I went to work in my room today with my little helper, baby Emma! Today my job was to try to label everything with my new first grade friends' names. Here is what I have done so far:
First week name tags! I like putting them into plastic ID badge holders--they last all week. The dots match my new bulletin board border.
Helper Owls! I have two new helpers each day, one boy and one girl.
Birthday cupcakes! When one of my students celebrates a birthday, I attach the cupcake to a sentence strip, and they wear it all day as their birthday crown!
Book bags! (These are new!) Books that the kids choose to read from the classroom library will go in these colorful book pouches!
I'm decorating in the same polka dots! Love them!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of the cupcake birthday crowns. Inexpensive and fun ;)
ReplyDeleteHey! I stumbled upon your blog while blog-hopping teacher blogs. I'm hoping to start my own this year. I teach first grade also. You have a lot of cute ideas. I love the book pouches. Where did you get them? They are super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janae! I ordered the book pouches from Really Good Stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou have a ton of neat ideas. Thanks for sharing them! I hate writing the students' names on different things. I never thought of printing the names on labels and then attaching them. Thanks for getting my mind working again.
ReplyDeleteI love those little book bags!
ReplyDeleteThe cupcake crown idea is GENIUS! I've been making individual birthday crowns for every kid for YEARS...one crown with a detachable element is such a time-saver! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! How do you print the names for the name badges and other items? Did you just print them onto regular copy paper and glue them on or did you use mailing labels? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love all your ideas! Do you print the words/names on labels or just on paper before you print them and place them on your cutouts, charts, etc.?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your blog!!!! Just found it tonight! I am sure I will be commenting and asking lots of questions! LOL First one, what font did you use for those cute cute nametags. Love the idea of putting them in plastic! : )
ReplyDeleteCindy
Crystal, for the name badges and owls, I printed the names onto copy paper then glued them! Cindy, the font came from my "Super Fontastic" CD from DJ Inkers--I'm not sure what the name of the font is though! I'm so glad you like my blog!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bookbags! <3
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the plastic id badge holders?
ReplyDeleteSweet P--Wal-Mart!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I teach Kindergarten. My room is done in the dots on chocolate and owls. :)
